Focus Stealing Prevention

Preventing Windows from Stealing Focus

By default on Nobara (KDE), applications can aggressively steal window focus. This is especially annoying with apps like Unity, where every progress bar update will bring the window to the front, interrupting whatever else you are doing.

How to fix it

  1. Open System Settings > Window Management > Window Behavior
  2. Set "Focus stealing prevention" to High

This stops background windows from forcefully grabbing focus, letting you work in peace while Unity reimports shaders or processes assets in the background.
